That's a shame. Terrible to have in place for the tiebreaks. More importantly Gawain now has initiative and a lead on the clock.

Apparently 18.Bb5+ is the move now... will be a very good find though

Presumably was thinking about it, but didn't play it.

Have to agree with Tom/ Loz about the zero tolerance rule. Really is stupid to enforce it for the tie-breaks.

I guess rules and rules, it's the same for everyone, blah blah blah but when players don't know when the round will start, apart from "not before ...." it must be very hard for anyone wanting a smoke or toilet break or even to get a drink.benedgell wrote:Have to agree with Tom/ Loz about the zero tolerance rule. Yes, it's a terrible situation. Back to the chess and I guess Gawain's game is heading for a draw... still I think I'd rather have the Bishops and pawn here.
Re: Tromso World Cup 2013
Negi lost with white (again) in his match to decide Adams' next opponent.
Re: Tromso World Cup 2013
Kamsky is winning with black in his match to decide (potentially) Gawain's next opponent.

It's moving too fast to speculate on. Probably still a draw :/

Looks like almost anything can happen when both players are down to increment.
