The first few delegation members should already have arrived in Budva. I will be heading to the airport in a few hours. Looking forward to it.
Good luck team!

Re: European Youth Chess Championships 2013
As well as the players listed above, the under 14 section also includes the following players who are active in English tournaments and representing other countries.
Guy Moss (ISR), Sebastian Mihajlov (NOR), Rhys Bennett and Owen Bennett (WLS). Svetlana Sucikova (SVK) is also active in England and playing in the Under 14 girls.
I dont know how many boards will be recorded live. Hopefully with such a large group there will be at least one England player live every round.

Could I ask everyone who is reading this thread, to wish the whole England team the best of luck either via a PM to Jim, or via the twitter feed he referenced in the first thread.
Also please use this thread throughout the tournament for positive comments so the players know they are being supported by everyone back home.
Kind Regards
Neville Belinfante

I noticed last night that in the U16 event England will be represented inter alia by Adam C Taylor and Adam A Taylor.
I anticipate a degree of confusion amongst opponents paired against them both.

I was told a story where both were playing in the same section of a congress. A player complained to the arbiter that he'd played Adam Taylor in a previous round...David Sedgwick wrote:I anticipate a degree of confusion amongst opponents paired against them both.

Re: European Youth Chess Championships 2013
thanks for the good luck messages.
Typing this in the hotel lobby as the second big group of England team members to travel via dubrovnik are checking in. I arrived a few hours earlier (though not as early as I had hoped as the road from Podgorica airport was closed for over an hour, allegedly due to a mountaineer having fallen off - hope s/he is OK but fear the worst having seen the precipitous slopes).
For those wanting to follow the games live, start time has been pushed back to 3.30pm for some reason (4pm for U10 open and both U8 sections). a total of 48 boards will be live, as follows:
- U18 open (1-7)
- U18 girls (1-5)
- U16 open (1-7)
- U16 girls (1-5)
- U14 open (1-7)
- U14 girls (1-5)
- U12 open (1-7)
- U12 girls (1-5)
- U10 and U8 - none
internet access hereabouts isn't great so those back home are likely to have a better chance of seeing the games than we will!

Hi Jim
Are the times you quoted local time? Also what is the time difference with the UK?
Has anyone spotted any active in England players other than those I listed above?

Re: European Youth Chess Championships 2013
There is a Social Chess Club at High Wycombe Library every Sunday afternoon, and there is an internet enabled plasma screen in the room the Chess Club uses. Last week myself and some of the young children at the club saw the live game in the World Juniors between Felix Ynojosa (ex Reading Chess Club) and Yang Fan (China).
This afternoon it looks like there is a choice of England players that can be watched live. I have spotted Akshaya in the U12 girls and Rufus Duff in the U18 Open. There may be others I have not spotted yet.
Here's hoping the matches are not delayed until after the Chess Club finishes at 4.
