So my 3-1 prediction came true . Greece next... for as much as possible I think we should definitely play our top four rated players now. I have a feeling that the captain might be tempted to rotate but he shouldn't- he definitely should play Adams for all the remaining games anyway!

Sending a women's team is never a waste of money, especially given how small the amount is compared to the overall budget. However, sending a team with no coach and not having a reserve available for all nine games is clearly a major handicap. Hopefully the events of this year will ensure that neither of those two factors are allowed to occur again.

I bet Adams had nightmares over his game versus Grischuk (35...Qe2+ appears decisive) especially as his opponent appeared to have less than a minute left on his clock for the last 10 moves.

I see McShane is playing again today, presumably with the view he needs to play himself into some sort of form. I seem to remember him losing the first 3 games of Tal memorial before beating Aronian, Kramnik & Morozevich.

A big win today is probably a pre-requisite to be in a position to challenge for the top places.

I wish they could re-assign all the live coverage resources from Chennai to Warsaw - much better spectacle!
