Amazing turnaround in Howell's game. If Adams win, he has a great chance to get the board 1 prize if he can do well in the final round (would he even have to play?). Can England still perform to their seeding overall if they win here and in the last round? In the top match, China beat France - any ideas who China will play in the final round?

37 Ne4 was a major error, which could have been even more drastically punished by 37. .. Rh8. That's a computer line of course but part of the pattern is the Knight and Rook mate with the King in the corner

I suppose he lost control in the centre trying to make the a pawn decisive. The computer engine has its usual confidence in navigating the hazards and has suggestions trying to demonstrate an advantage to white, or at worst equality.

I think it will be China vs Poland in the final round? Not sure, but that is the only team on 15 or more points I can find that hasn't played China yet. And China will only need a 2-2 draw to take the title outright.

Well, I reckon it must be more that he either underestimated Black's counterplay or he didn't see the whole threat deep enough. The fact that Nigel played quickly in the final few moves despite having over 20 minutes suggests he was probably trying to make it difficult for Tiger, while he had to play with a minute left.
