My idea...
If an uncastled player defeats a castled player the former should receive a scoring and or rating bonus. Agree?

No. Why would a player waste a move on castling?
1.f3 2.Kf2 3.Ke1 is the best!!(blink)

It would be a chess variant if the scoring system rewarded those who didn't castle. As such it can be added to the long list of ideas representing tampering for the sake of it.Steven DuCharme wrote:If an uncastled player defeats a castled player the former should receive a scoring and or rating bonus. A couple of thoughts. The Berlin endgame after 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 Nf6 4. O-O Nxe4 5. d4 Nd6 6. Bxc6 dxc6 7. dxe5 Nf5 8. Qxd8 Kxd8 is popular enough as it is. Why encourage it with a bonus?
The style of some players, I'm thinking of the younger David Howell, appears to have a bias in favour of not castling and indulging in hair raising king safety for the sake of the tempo loss in castling.

Half of Korchnoi’s games in the French alone would give him a rating over 4000

NO.
Why tampr with Laws that have stood the test of time for so many years? If you want to make a change, why not place the White king on d1 and Black on e8. That changes all opening theory with just one minor change.

It should be the other way around, if a castled player beats an uncastled player he should get a bonus because as we know 'Great players never castle'. They are so good, they don't need to castle...never actually met one though... .

Tweet from Radjabov: What happens when you do not castle : Nisipeanu-So 1-0 Dortmund Chess Tournament
Black should have castled queenside on move 12 instead of taking the knight. Nice game though.

Yes, I thought that too. Nice to see another victim of the Grand Prix Attack.

Looks like he never had a prudent chance to castle imo
