As the moves are freely available on the NRK site, legitimately, it's difficult to see how Agon could prove that someone was using their site as their source of the moves, not the NRK one.

It's also difficult to see how Agon could claim to have suffered any loss even if they could prove that someone had taken moves from their website when exactly the same information is legitimately freely available elsewhere.

It remains to be seen what grounds. The site nrk.no is displaying the games and doesn't impose conditions of use. It's not logically different from watching cricket on Sky Sports and posting up the score at the end of each over.

I think FIDE should terminate Agon's contract at the earliest possible opportunity. Threats to the those who would broadcast and discuss chess while it happens and impediments to the attraction of live audiences have no part in the promotion of chess.

Indeed, the BCCI tried to stop sites like Cricinfo doing exactly that (in addition to a commentary of what happened), and insisting that they delayed the transmission. It didn't seem to get anywhere though, for reasons that I can't find on Google.

Same problem here. If this continues, I might as well take my son to see Kung Fu Panda 3.

Not much of a legal expert, but if Agon have secured a court injunction against broadcasting then I imagine that the other sites will have no choice but to comply, pending the legality of the ban being tested in court.

Surely it depends upon the jurisdiction of the injunction. We don't know that - in fact, we don't know much.
