Speak for yourself: if Anand wins the candidates I would be happy with Carlsen Anand #3.
The other day on twitter I made a joke about people calling it Carlsen - Anand 3 because that was the number of people in the world who wanted to see it happen.
Somebody replied saying one was Anand (another title challenge) one was Carlsen (an easy win) and asking who the other was. I guess now we know.
I guess the third one could have been Shirov that was defrauded of a well earned chance to challenge Kasparov, just because nobody wanted to see that match.
Interesting times for Anand after Caruana’s bishop sac.
While, I’m here needless to say, you’ve totally missed the point of my posts. Also, you’re incorrect about the Shirov match. That didn’t happen because nobody would pay for it, rather than nobody wanting to see it.

I can't find the drawing line, even given your clues.

Including the people who had signed a contract saying they would pay for it.

I would have thought so, but who knows.
Not only that, he has to decide which way to give it back.

If the big idea is 20...Qg5, I still fancy White.

Yes, white must have decent chances from here.

"This is going to be over very quickly now" says van Wely.
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

I think I understand what you meant with your posts: you and a couple of friends on twitter agreed on something and you find it strange that the entire world does not agree: how odd.

Looking around for the pairings for future rounds I happened on
this page, which displays simple information in just about as unfriendly a manner as could possibly be achieved.
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

(Still, where's the same information on worldchess.com ? I'm baffled.)

The pairings are also regularly included in the ChessBase reports.
(it is something they are generally good at in their tournament coverage, to give them their due)

And they're also on Chess24 (thanks to both). You'd think the "official site" might make them easy to find, though, wouldn't you?
Caruana romping home, it seems, assuming his +2 is easier to convert than Giri's was on Monday.

Aronian may also win against Topalov, which would set things up nicely with a three-way tie at the top.
