Yes, c4 as a transpositional device mostly. Not quite the same thing.

The 1974 match with Karpov featured four Englishes in the first nine games, including a few goes at the odd system 1. c4 Nf6 2. Nc3 e6 3. Nf3 b6 4. e4 Bb7 5. Qe2 Bb4.

EDIT: Four games in the 1974 Korchnoi-Mecking match.

Also a few in each of the WC matches with Karpov IIRC.

Continuing with the can-they-still-win mucking about, I think I can produce a convoluted set of results in which Nakamura can still tie first with Svidler and would defeat him on "most wins".
