Alex - I am really disappointed. When I saw that you had posted, I assumed that you would have some predictions for tomorrow's pairings! Still Iraq-Syria must have been an interesting pairing.

To be fair:
(1) The pairings have been published for 10 minutes now, and
(2) I had indeed predicted the pairings, which I've got on handwritten notes here in my room, but didn't quite get time to do anything with before they were published.

They were pretty trivial this time, actually.

I shall miss all of it with working and stuff like that - I suggested to my wife that she could send me half hourly reports but she doubted that was a good idea because she was going out to do important things!

A close win against Peru would leave us finishing 5th, I'd guess, while a heavy victory could well mean 4th. So a tremendous result if we can just rake in that one last match win..

I see the Mexican board 2 (on 100%) was rested today - wonder if he will sit out their match v Japan to ensure he stays ahead of Kramnik?

I assume Gawain & Nigel need to play and win for a chance of a medal (and we'll be wondering about Belarus bottom board v Uzbekistan
