If he likes blitz then ICC is likely going to be the place, though some grandmasters choose to remain anonymous there to avoid too much attention, so it could be hard to track him down. He does have a website ( http://www.michaeladamschess.co.uk/ ) where you might be able to write in to ask him personally

Couldn't you ask the strong player who beat him?

I was just thinking that when I saw the first post.

Why not ask him what site it was on.

I'm not sure you can have bragging rights about beating anyone online.
(and are you ever 100% sure that player is who he says he is.)

The stronger players are relaxed and having fun, possibly with one eye on the T.V.
Bullet games, Mouse slips, computer glitches and temporary disconnections.
It's not quite like the real thing.

I think that is often the case with most players "wins" against strong opponents - when the surface is scratched away it turns out that actually the glorious victory was when the GM was 8, in a simul and suffering from a massive dose of flu.

I basically agree with you though Im still happy about my online results... I think in future online chess will be more serious, we are seeing this with the chess.com league.

Online chess where you just play games like on ICC etc. against random players will always be a bit random

Things like the chess.com league is nothing new as organized events online have been going on for years (ICC had Dos Hermanos); these are just a different medium and will continue to get more prestige with developments in countering online cheating, once they can guarantee cheating has been eradicated the online tournaments (with paid entries) will take off; but I think we are still a few years away from this

I'll ask Mickey. Indeed, I'll ask his wife. I'm sure they'll jump at the chance to play you. Thing to remember, always, is that elite GMs are very lonely; and they're seriously happy when club amateurs approach them for a game. Of course, they may decline: the risk of losing to you could damage their reputation - and grade! But press on. Use your charm. After all, they are human. And you could get lucky....

I don't know about you David, but I think the risk would be very minimal hahaha. I didn't really want to contact him, just watch his games online as I play his openings and understand his games better than other GMs.

To be fair, I think this ambiguous statement meant "I understand his games, better than (I understand the games of) other GMs".
