ECF (and Malcolm) on the losing side, then?NickFaulks wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 11:50 amThere was a vote to choose scrutineers, Even though they really are believed to be fair, it may be significant that a Dvorkovich supporter got over 100 votes. A conspicuous Makro supporter got only 60 something.Christopher Kreuzer wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 11:25 amDo you mean the voting is taking place and you are trying to read the body language of the scrutineers?
How is the voting taking place? Is it a card vote?
It is a secret ballot.

Well, either ECF or USCF had to spoil their record of backing losers.

I'm beginning to wonder if Makro is deliberately throwing this way

Pity. I wanted to see how many votes Nigel would have got on the first ballot.

Voting underway with Afghanistan. Nations called up one by one, so it could be a while.

Instead of one hand washing the other it'd have been one hand counting on the otherChristopher Kreuzer wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 12:44 pmPity. I wanted to see how many votes Nigel would have got on the first ballot.

Wonder if all the organisations that were supporting Nigel were aware of his intentions?

Upthread Andy Howie suggested he knew in advance. Were Scotland planning on voting for Nigel?
Ah, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.

I think they would have had to be naïve not to view this as, at least, a possibility. It seems to me (and, I'm sure, to others) obvious that Nigel realised he couldn't win and so, perfectly sensibly, has done his best to ensure that the least desirable (in his view) candidate doesn't.

It was fairly predictable, perhaps moreso after the result of the scrutineers election when it became clear Dvorkovich was going to prevail.Brian Towers wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 12:59 pmUpthread Andy Howie suggested he knew in advance. Were Scotland planning on voting for Nigel?
