Good luck to all the English players in Paracin.
Unfortunately the tournament has started about a week too soon for Matthew Wadsworth to have been able to play as an IM.

Wins for Justin, Matthew, Joseph, Marcus, and also Carl Strugnell (apologies, hadn't spotted him earlier). Draw for James and a loss for Sam. Round 2 tomorrow at 0830 UK, round 3 at 15.30 UK also tomorrow. No doubt the lads will all be early to bed given early round time and double round day.....

Ah, Carl Strugnell. Another one of the group of players who have all the norms but haven't yet hit 2400.

Joe drew that one, good result, and followed it with a draw against an FM; he then lost to a 2400+ FMLeonard Barden wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 10:25 pmMcPhillips (3.5) is White on board 2 against top seeded GM Ivan Ivanisevic (3.5) in round 5
