Buying and Selling

Post by Paul McKeown » Sat Jan 04, 2020 2:39 am

Is buying and selling points an 11.1 "bringing the game into disrepute" violation, or is there a more specific Law or regulation?

Hi Paul,

Recall reading a while back about rule 11.1 and it's flexibility to match any given situation.

(I noted 11 + 11 = 22 and basically Catch 22 means no matter which way you wriggle and squirm the system has you by the short and curlies.)

Rule 11.1 covers everything from wearing Bermuda Shorts to plugging yourself into a computer.
It appears it is how the arbiter judges the severity of the incident and what punishment, if any, is to be dished out.

Think the common action in a buying/selling points case is to hold back the prizes.
No idea what happens if you are talking about taking a dive to gift wrap rating points
or deliberately losing so some chappie (or indeed some lassie) can get a norm.
