The final round is scheduled for Monday 28th September. The newly appointed Czech health minister is announcing restrictions later this week to limit indoor events to 50 people, so there might be potential for impact on the chess event. There's around 230 players.

There was a similar issue back in March during the Seniors team event. The initial response was separate rooms and a ban on spectators. Later the event was terminated a couple of rounds short of normal completion.

Quick resume.
As far as I know, the '"Nuns on the Run" Congress in North Yorkshire is still going ahead.
There was a few other chess clubs open in England including Gosforth and Surbiton.
Everything seems back to normal in the Isle of Man, so the Manx Chess Championship is still going ahead and the Douglas Championship is taking place at the moment.
I assume the Chess clubs are open there.
In Wales and Scotland there is no OTB Chess tournaments before Christmas planned.
All chess clubs in Wales closed, I assume it's the same in Scotland.
Not sure what's happening in Jersey or Guernsey.
In Ulster there was an interesting OTB tournament played outdoors the weekend before last.
In the Republic of Ireland, the City of Dublin Championships have been postponed due to the increase to Level 3 restrictions.
I think the Limerick open tournament is still going ahead.
There are two more OTB tournaments planned in Dublin and one in Blarney before Christmas but I now doubt if the Dublin tournaments will go ahead as planned.
There are also a few OTB tournaments planned in Europe before Christmas.
I'll keep you all posted if I hear anymore.

Same at Bad Woerishofen in March, where we were told the last round would probably not be allowed to go ahead, but during the evening before the morning start an exemption was granted

Lasting 6 months so will probably rule out Easter too. Most sports will be bankrupt.

I suppose on one side sport is the least of our worries, but it is a shame the amount of sports which will be damaged. A bit of a gap or void is being created. As a boxing fan I can see it already, with the lower level professional boxers and journeymen drifting away from the sport. Not to mention the amateurs who will probably think better of turning professional in this environment. There's no small hall boxing shows anymore, and it will obviously take a long time recover. In chess I suppose there will be a portion of the mid-teen age groups who just will never return, as GCSE's and further education takes them away before over the board chess competition gets back on its feet.
