As far as I know, this week the CEO is Chris Majer - Hi John this is confusing does the holder of the position change on a regular basis?

I know we had an unelected 'chairman' at the last meeting but so far as we are aware Chris is still our CEO?

The position of CEO has an "alternative" which is very ably executed by Andrew Farthing. From time to time the alternative takes over from the normal role holder. Currently, I believe, CEM is holding the reins of CEO and it is he from whom we all await the sign-off of CoM.

Does this site now belong to the ECF? and if not, what would happen if you chose to withdraw it from their use, or run it as your own private site?

The domain name is in the process of being transferred to the ownership of the ECF.

I felt the need to offer this domain since the one originally registered contained hyphens and, made reference to Chess for Schools. This is a connection I would rather not have.

Despite the suggestion from one person that I was going to require monies from the ECF to use this domain I have offered to transfer it gratis on the assumption that I can recover any costs incurred.

This has been tacitly agreed although formal authorisation was supposed to reach me from the Manager of IT. This has yet to occur. I have started the process not waiting for authorisation as I do not wish to see any more delays.

It 'used to be' around £70 to alter the legal registrant on a domain, although what the cost is now I am not sure?

I had the foresight to choose a Nominet type domain plus both myself and the ECF are customers of Zen Internet. I predict less than that. It would come out of JRT if need be.

That makes no difference or never used to, so the cost does need checking I am afraid...

It is simple - the ECF has to have ownership of the domain name for all sorts of common sense reasons, and we are more than happy to refund any costs associated with transferring it over. These days, however, domain names are becoming increasingly irrelevant.

I registered chessforschools.org.uk to use as the trialling domain before it was clear that the association between CfS and CoM was not wise.

I am happy to bear that cost of that myself as the hosting of the trialling domain is carried by myself.

I think that the site uses cookies to remember you, so you have to enable them on your computer. Try that!

This may sound like stalling but the author of the practise Q&As is on the brink of uploading them to the database.

I have chivvied and am expectant. Apologies for this. You may, of course, register and purchase a credit and do the Level One exam.

You could if you like take the free General Knowledge test if you like. I am to blame for the questions in the main.

I don't quite understand all that, does it mean that a parent or guardian must give their consent in order for a youngster to submit their E-mail address in order to take the test?

That is fine, but I still don't seem to be able to log on, how do I become 'registered'
