Clearly (so far) #4 is the most ghastly of them all and appears to involve an incident during the 4NCL team competition presumably during the 0506 season.

I'm not sure what each of the venues were for each weekend but I guess the first weekend was at Birmingham as that is how Megabase has labelled the complete season.

Megabase knows the 4NCL tournament for 0506 as "BCF-chT2 0506"

Even without the link to this story I think I get the general drift. Sounds terrible and Sabrina is absolutely entitled to withhold names but, without names, it doesn't move us much further forward.

Okay - it is Twitter.

Story 4 is a direct allegation of rape, with plenty of bullying from the rapists' team mates on the side.

One of Sabrina's friends really should help her bring her story to the nearest police station. It concerns an extremely serious crime, which might be repeated by the same offenders. I can understand a degree of reticence, of course.

If the 4NCL and/or the ECF know of the allegations, they really should suspend the players concerned until this is cleared.

Story 3 is just an all too credible story of racism in English team selection and support. I suspect (or perhaps foolishly hope) that attitudes are different today.

It sounds very positive that Sabrina says she is now thinking seriously about reporting these sexual assaults to the police. I was a police officer for 11 years, and that really is the best idea. As was said on X, take a friend and expect a positive outcome. I’m sure they’ll give you plenty of victim of crime support, and ultimately some justice can hopefully be served on these predators hiding in our chess community.

I agree, reporting the rape to the police is the most sensible course of action, which although requiring courage, should help make the chess community a safer one in the long term.

Stories one, two and four are all sexual assaults, and statements can be written for all 3, and 3 crimes recorded. I’m sure her local police station will liaise with whoever they need to make sure the crimes are investigated by the correct police forces.
