Re: John Zastapilo
We knew that John had played and defeated a young David Howell at the Portsmouth Chess Congress in 1999 which John had fond memories of. One of our club members (Peter Eales) visited the The Norway Chess 2024 Tournament this weekend and spoke to David Howell, as to if he had the scoresheet. David did and kindly supplied the game. As well as friends of John now being able to see this game, this also reflects on David Howell, who took the time to find the game (I understand he may have had to ask his Mother to look at his old scorebooks) and supply.
This is very much appreciated by friends of John.
