I don't recall the Webb-Kasparov game's appearing in his book; which chapter would it have been in?

So long since I read it I can't be sure. I remember playing through the game in a book more than once because I remember the game quite well. If it wasn't in chess for tigers then its somewhere else. Webb handled himself quite well then late in the middle-game, I've just played through the game and its definitely in print somewhere if not in chess in tigers.

Its definitely not in the original Chess For Tigers, which was published a year or two earlier.

I do believe there was an updated edition, but IIRC that was more adding stuff to the original rather than altering it.

Miles managed, I think, just 3 draws from 9 games. Mickey's score Vs Gary was, I think 0-10. Shirov's score was 0-14. Gelfand´s score 0-13. Yusupov´s score was 1-11... and the game he won, in Barcelona 1989, Gary said would have been his best game of that event had he not blundered in a highly favourable position.
Timman´s and Short´s personal scores Vs Kasparov are, in each case, about 2-26.
Not a bad player that guy...

I have got the 2nd edition of Chess for Tigers (as well as the 1st) and there are no Kasparov games in the 2nd ed.

Simon was a nice guy.
But, once again I have to agree with Bob Wade in his criticism of the conservative nature of David Anderton and his dreadful influence on British chess in, for example, arguing for Webb to be included in that team in preference to Short.
Povah also would later say, "Webb shouldn't have been in the team in my opinion."

I never played Gary, Sñr McReady, no.
But on Youtube you may see me correcting his analysis in the game in which he beat Tukmakov with black to tie first in the USSR Championship of 1981 as I ("out of the mouths of babes") asked why, instead of entering a blizzard of complications via a double pawn sac, he didn´t just make the most obvious move in the world by capturing a pawn with ... Rxa4.
He admits that it didn´t occur to him and conceded, honestly, that I had made him feel "very ashamed"
