Braund v Capablanca
Could someone please help with the following. I am trying to locate the game between a Herts number 3 player F.N.Braund and Capablanca, at a simul held in Luton. The local gentleman won and I would like to put it on my site. I can't do this alone, so any help greatly appreciated.

Re: Braund v Capablanca
I cannot help on this and not sure if the same person (but I presume it is, or if not a close relation) but F.N.Braund played for Hampshire and Sussex as well as Herts. This is only his record where Hampshire were involved.
It maybe that depending on when the simul was played that the relevant organisation may have details (although Hampshire do not)

I also noticed he played board one in the Hampshire Correspondence team in the 1926/27 season in their match against the Leeds and District area.
https://hampshirechesshistory.co.uk/ham ... s-1926-27/. If the same person from 1904 then it looks as if he played in the Isle of Wight telephone matches as well.
The Isle of Wight had a regular chess reporter for the IOW Observer from the late 1890's (much before your time frame) in JS Flower which is worth a browse (it seems FN Braund was their auditor in 1909). In 1903 the IOW beat Southampton CC 7 - 5 with Braund drawing on board one against JH Blake.

Re: Braund v Capablanca
Do you have a date for the simul?
I've conducted a newspaper search and can't find a precise date for a Capablanca simul at Luton, but there are a couple of passing references to his having done so previously.
BCM (November 1919 and January 1920) gave a detailed breakdown for Capa's simul performance in late 1919, as follows.
From the second image we can see that Capablanca did indeed give a simul at Luton in 1919 but won all 40 games. So, if Frederick Norman Braund (1864-1935) took part, we know he must have lost.

He didn't. I was looking at two different things at the same time and got mixed up. Apologies.
