1st Eastleigh FIDE Congress (Hampshire)

Under 10 days to go for the inaugural Eastleigh FIDE Congress to be held at the Barton Peveril College at Chestnut Avenue, Eastleigh South. The event will run between 10:00 am on Saturday, June 28th to 6:00 pm on Sunday, June 29th

The event is organised under the Psyon Chess umbrella with support on local promotion by the Hampshire Chess Association

• Format: 5-round Swiss StandardPlay Tournament
  Minimum ECF Gold Membership required to avoid paying the ECF Pay-to-Play fee
  FIDE & ECF rated across 3 sections: U2300, U1900 & U1500
  Time control: 60 minutes + 30 seconds increment from Start
  Venue is 20 minutes away by walk from Southampton Airport Parkway and Eastleigh Train Station with Direct Buses operating from Romsey & Southampton- ample free parking at & around the venue.

We are pleased to onboard Steven Kawuma, a former the Hampshire Champion in 2007, who comes back to competitive chess after 2010 !
The numbers at 55 players with a day to go look quite respectable for the inaugural event.
