I won with white this evening against a promising 10 year old from Leamington, finished about 11pm.. The games started 15 minutes late due to a few issues regarding the pairings. It's good to see so many people. Chess and Bridge are doing the book stall again and provided free pens at every board.

I won this morning with black in a sharp tactical battle against Edward Staples from Hull. Both of us were down to one minute each. This afternoon, I drew against top seed Brendan O'Gorman with white.
Good to see Lara Barnes as chief arbiter.
Nigel Hepworth has organised a terrific Congress.
