Premier Chess Fantasy Football 2026-27
Just when I'm trying to sort on 4NCL teams for the season, Fantasy football arrives.
Our Premier Chess League has been restored and trying to work out who the new Premier managers and indeed players are for the coming season is a nightmare. The first match is today Friday 21st August and its still not too late to take part.

Week One
We taught Spurs a lesson Brentford supporter comment on BBC.
Welcome to the 2026-27 season. I have to catch up on new managers; transferred players and so on. My week one was highlighted by the wrong goalkeeper, a mediocre midfield and three useless strikers (including captain Haaland) - so must do better this week.

Week 2
Premier League clubs have smashed the transfer spending record after splashing £3.49bn on new signings Sky Sports
I might be able to sort out who on earth these players are in due course. Incidentally isn't it about time Fantasy Football changed the values of the players - Haaland for £15.5 million? As usual there was a complete change around from Week 1 with only Francis Moan remaining - he finished in a quadruple tie for 2nd place behind our new leader John Peters. Dozens of managers scored over 100 points.

Disappearing players Not worked out this one yet. When a player is in an initial squad (eg Ollie Watkins) then disappears abroad; before he used to stay there until transferred out. However I can't see anything for players who have left the Premier Division.

Week Three
Aston Villa one shot on target in first three Premier matches Opta stats.
It has taken European Champions League matches to show that Villa actually have some shooting boots. Meanwhile the Premier League has a familiar look with Arsenal & Manchester City on maximum points with Fulham and Coventry yet to register. In Premier Chess still plenty of changes in the top five; it will take a few more weeks for any trends to emerge - five points covering our leader board.
