Which is funny because the king only moved back to e8 two moves earlier. Anyway presumably this explains why the games online stop at move 35.

The match result which might be the biggest upset is Lebanon's draw with Finland with Lebanon winning the top two boards. Akram Khoder (2304) beat Tomi Nyback (2593) and Zayne-Eddine El Zein (2291) winning against Vilka Sippila (2474)

Fier also lost
yesterday and his TPR so far appears to be 1358.
Today he seems to have taken a very large risk to avoid a draw, and he did indeed avoid it.

Portelli from Malta who beat the 2620 rated Gledura yesterday lost today to a 1971 rated player from San Marino! Chess certainly has a way of bringing you back to earth

With all bar one of the first round matches going according to the seeding, the second round has become top quartile v second quartile and third quartile v fourth quartile In other words like the first round of accelerated pairings. The lower part of the second round had gone to form as well with the third quartile scoring 4-0 and 3.5-0.5 against the fourth quartile, so the top of the third round will be top eighth v second eighth. Each quartile has about 50 teams.
