Menswear
A menswear shop in Huesca is promoting its range by associating it with chess. Is this a first?

"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

Re: Menswear
From 2013 in Bangalore (Bengaluru) India. Also recall not too long ago Louis Vuitton had a chess themed display.

Over the years I have received 8-9 pairs of chess themed socks. I will now plug the Edinburgh Chess Club's shop. (no socks...yet)

I recall chess related ties being a thing when I was younger (CHESS magazine used to sell them in the B H Wood days)

When at Hastings in the days of yore I heard BH Wood ask Smyslov whether he'd annotate a game or two
"Vasily, I offer you a book, some money and a tie!"
He accepted!

I did get one or two chess-related sweaters and t-shirts from tournaments.

Re: Menswear
"Everybody has heard of "Rowing" Shirts, "Cricket" Shirts, "Hunting" Shirts, and the like, with devices emblematical of those pleasant sports . To some even a "check" shirt is no novelty - but who before heard tell of a Chess Shirt ? And yet why not? Why should huntsmen, and scullers, and cricketers have their amusements commemorated in "deathless print" and Chess-players pass unnoticed and unknown? All our patterns why should they engross? So thought the ingenious deviser of those before us (himself of a surety an enthusiast in our game) the armour of proof, the Chess Shirt of Messrs. BESEMERES."
