Why Chess Clubs Struggle sometimes to get Members

Post by Gavin Strachan » Thu Aug 05, 2010 2:01 pm

I think chess clubs follow the rules of the film "Fight Club" which is why memberships have dropped:

#1 - The first rule of Chess Club is, you do not talk about Chess Club.

#2 - The second rule of Chess Club is, you DO NOT talk about Chess Club.

#3 - If someone says stop, goes limp, taps out, the game is over.

#4 - Two guys to a game.

#5 - One game at a time.

#6 - No shirts, no shoes.

#7 - Matches will go on as long as they have to.

#8 - If this is your first night at Chess Club, you have to play

Due to rules 1 and 2 not enough publicity goes on.
