Interviewed by Colin Murray on Radio 5 live about 9:25 tonight.
It seems they wanted Luke McShane, but he's still playing Kramnik.
Sample question from Perry Groves: "Do you bring your own pieces?"

You're speaking to the wrong man Phil. I was a season ticket holder at Southampton when we sold Alan Shearer for a then record £3.something million. We spent the money on Kerry Dixon and Perry Bloody Groves.

It's not such a silly question as it's the norm in the USA and closer to home in Ireland, although perhaps American and Irish organisers might manage to hire some bits for an event of the standing of the London Classic.Jonathan Bryant wrote:Sample question from Perry Groves: "Do you bring your own pieces?"

Re: David Howell on Radio 5 Live
That's a bit unfortunate. Wonder if they will come back to interview Luke? Maybe if he wins the tournament, he can aim higher than Radio 5 live! (Hmm, best not get too far ahead of ourselves here). Anyone able to summarise what David said?Jonathan Bryant wrote:Interviewed by Colin Murray on Radio 5 live about 9:25 tonight.

Re: David Howell on Radio 5 Live
The programme should be available on i-player.
It was Colin Murray's regular Friday night programme. Kicking Off I think it's called. I guess they wanted McShane because he'd beaten Carlsen. Howell started off by talking about drawing with Anand.
McShane - Kramnik finished no more than 10 minutes after the interview actually took place, but then doubt Luke would have wanted to have gone straight on live radio immediately after finishing a 7 hr+ chess game.
