Sorted - thanks!Carl Hibbard wrote:Link to here needs to be http://www.ecforum.org.uk/ as the login cookie is set for that oneAdam Raoof wrote:Please let me know if you have any corrections or additions!
Thanks for that! I will do - incidentally the direct link to the site is http://middlesexchess.blogspot.com/ in case, for any reason, the site goes offline... this archived site is very interesting - is there a historical archive of the complete list of prizewinners in each division / individual competition somewhere?Richard Thursby wrote:New website looks good. One thing missing is the constitution; which can be found here

(archived from the very old geocities site, so might not be the most up to date version). I note in particular that Rule 1 doesn't tally with the map on the new website. From my limited knowledge, the differences reflect the boundary changes made in c 1890. As you specifically mention Imperial College, the differences could lead to eligibility issues in county matches (a new student who isn't yet eligible by club membership, living close to college, for example). It also appears that (without divulging too much personal imformation) these differences affect my eligibility.
It also might be a good idea to acknowledege where you obtained the image files.
Very good to know!Carl Hibbard wrote:Link to here needs to be http://www.ecforum.org.uk/ as the login cookie is set for that one
It drives me potty too - there is something not quite right with this software and cookies which I really must get around to sortingPaolo Casaschi wrote:Very good to know!Carl Hibbard wrote:Link to here needs to be http://www.ecforum.org.uk/ as the login cookie is set for that one
I bookmarked http://ecforum.org.uk and my browser kept asking me to login every time I get to the forum, I was wondering what was wrong with the "keep me logged in" option
I very much doubt it. Your best bet is to try the Metropolitan Archive, but I expect Tony F. has already mentioned it, assuming you didn't already know.Adam Raoof wrote:... is there a historical archive of the complete list of prizewinners in each division / individual competition somewhere?
It works now since I have www. in my bookmark.Carl Hibbard wrote:It drives me potty too - there is something not quite right with this software and cookies which I really must get around to sortingPaolo Casaschi wrote:Very good to know!Carl Hibbard wrote:Link to here needs to be http://www.ecforum.org.uk/ as the login cookie is set for that one

Yes thanks I knew the fix but was hoping to try a nicer solution without actually changing the cookie name and logging everyone outPaolo Casaschi wrote:There's some good info and few hints here (unless your server does something unusual):

I can't comment on the validity of the map, but Camden Town is in Middlesex; type "Camden Town" into this: http://gazetteer.co.uk/Phil Makepeace wrote:On the map provided, what does the central area count as?
I'm assuming that, clockwise from the area east of 2 (Enfield), the segregated areas represent Essex, Kent and Surrey. I moved to Camden in September 2009 and enquired about playing for Middlesex because (a) I assumed that I'd moved to within its boundaries and (b) the home venue was literally across the street from me. However, the map indicates I was wrong with my assumption in (a).
Despite having no direct affiliation whatsoever, would I have been able to play for any of the other 3 counties who border the central area?
