Perfect co-ordination with rook, knight, d-pawn. h6, ... b3, Rg6, .... b2, Rg7+ and Rb7 must defend against the b-pawn.

Wonderful effort by Atako (2110) against Andrew Webster. He is surely not worse.

Presumably not, since they have just drawn (according to the pairings/results page).Paul McKeown wrote:Wonderful effort by Atako (2110) against Andrew Webster. He is surely not worse.
But he's playing against Andrew Ledger.

Sorry, Ledger!
Atako must have been busted for much of that game, but well done him for finding ways of confusing the international heffalump.

Big win for Matthew Wadsworth on board 1 of the Major Open against Charlie Storey

Perhaps the website headline should be "Sniper Snipped by Nipper" or "Nipper Outguns Sniper"

I prefer to wait until games are finished before posting results.
Otherwise you do tend to offend some players.

I don't know about lurking...am obviously very pleased for Matthew. I haven't seen the game yet (I am at home); but given how rubbish I am at chess my comments would not be all that useful anyway.Paul Cooksey wrote:Yay Maidenhead! Another one snipes the dust?
Its interesting that Charlie, who is at Grandmaster strength (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wrw0ItikBzc) playing the best possible opening for black has somehow managed to lose against a sub-2000 player.
Well done Matthew though, great result!
