If anyone's got a serviceable second-hand black opening repertoire for sale then I'm open to offers. At over 20 year's old i think mine has finally packed up...

I did have two books complete repertoire for Black and complete repertoire for (can;t remember the last bit) by Dzindi.... Easy to read, good detail. Only criticism was some of the lines or openings recommended were a bit lame (as in toothless) though solid. If you are looking for fireworks then this is not really the one but I found it very interesting and learnt a lot.

Just a quick well done and keep it up from NCCA to William Boulton who is on Bd 34 today. He is playing about 120 pts above his grade. Keep it going lad!!

If he was playing at ECF 308 level then Adams, Short et al would really be worried! Looking at some of the strong players on the bottom boards, for example Mike Surtees, Roger de Coverly (both on 1.5/6), Jason McKenna and Ravi Haria (both on 2/6) make me feel very relieved that I'm not playing in that tournament.

Well it is the British Championships after all. It is meant to be strong. It has been debated to death that actually it should be a lot stronger than it is.

9.g4 certainly very interesting; guess he must think it's ok with the Bishop on f1. Does seem like red rag to a bull though...

The more I think about g4 the better it looks, perhaps Simon has to respond with something like e5 but then the g6 Bishop might never move again. Still, I've got high hopes that Simon will dream up something interesting.

Simon's position now looks comfortable, but maybe it is deceptive, after the natural 13....e6 Qb3 might be very annoying

It took me long than it should have done to realise that if Simon played 15...Bxe4 then Rxe4 and Ne5 wins

Definitely wouldn't like to have to defend against Hebden, Black's pieces just look rather scattered. Interesting way to play against the Tarrasch.
