Will this be ECF graded as well as Elo rated?

Re: e2e4 Dublin International: April 5-9
The organiser has sent an e-mail to the Director of Home Chess and other ECF people involved in grading to ask the ECF to grade it in the same way as they do Gibraltar. An answer should be forthcoming once said people check their e-mails...Jonathan Bryant wrote:Will this be ECF graded as well as Elo rated?

Sean has passed me this message from Adam:-
Dear Sean
The ECF would not grade this event/ We are also ending the service by
which members can get their games graded overseas if they register
their intention to play in advance with the IRO, but we would honour
this commitment one last time for Dublin, if requests were received.
best wishes
Adam

I'm going to start a separate thread about this, as I want to talk about this in relation to more than just this Dublin event.Jonathan Bryant wrote:Sean has past me this message from Adam:-

The Masters is looking like an incredibly strong event. For an up to date list of entries
http://www.e2e4.org.uk/entrants_dublin.htm
The Irish players always enter events very late in the day so we can expect the Major and Challengers to fill up too.
It's not too late to enter what is sure to be an enjoyable and tough weekend of chess. Cheap flights are still available with both Ryanair and Aer Lingus so why not join in the fun. The hotel is fabulous and we have our usual cheap rates so why not come and enjoy the famous Irish hospitality?
English players DO NOT need to be members of the ECF to play.

I don't think entrants will get it ECF graded without being an individual Direct Member. But then the ECF are withdrawing that benefit anyway, notwithstanding it being part of existing membership benefits, like ChessMoves.sean hewitt wrote: English players DO NOT need to be members of the ECF to play.

Some truly strange opening play on the live feed. It comes to something when Danny Gormally is the champion of sanity

Ah yes. They both really happened! By the way, I think I've worked out the home made wiring on the Irish DGT boards so I'm hoping to have more boards available tomorrow.

Re: e2e4 Dublin International: April 5-9
I would say that it's the Bunratty effect (Guinness) except that the round was played on Easter Saturday. Around twenty years ago, I played in an Easter tournament in Dublin. A couple of things stick to mind, one was that an obscure Irish airline named after someone called Ryan didn't believe in legroom, the other was that every single pub in Dublin was closed because of Good Friday.
