Gelfand can now win material, either by Bxa6 or Bxe4. Is it enough?

I'm going to stick my neck out: Gelfand win.

Anand is playing some pretty weak moves at the moment. They all seem to be part of a plan, but maybe the wrong plan.

27... f5 seems strange to me. 28. Nc4 and the threat is 29... Nd6. So 28... Nf6, but then 29. Nc5 seems to be total domination.

Anand isn't coming back from this. Several forum members would beat him from here. I volunteer Cooksey or Rogers!

I'm willing to fight Jonathan for the right to play this out!

I would expect to win this against anyone, assuming I could control my nerves.

It did, although might not last much longer

I think 32. Nc6 would mean a lot more of the forum would hope to beat even Anand.

What about 32 Nc6 Rxb2 33 Ra8 Rb1+ 34 Kh2 e3?

With the idea fxe3 Nxe3, then g4 (given time) and Nf1+? Or Nf1+ Kh3 g4+?

or 33...e3. per Leko; "He is creating magic out of nothing"

I don't see this working against Gelfand. But we forum members ought to be nervous about super-GMs' desparate sacrifices!

But doesn't White have mating threats?
