I think so, not much but the slight edge Boris was aiming for I guess.

I've never really looked at these early e4 lines, they are more interesting than I realised.

Is 18. Kg2 an idea, making 19. f4 possible and trying to make 18... Bf5 unlikely? I mean 18. f4 straight away doesn't allow 19. Bxd4 because 19... Qxd4 is check.

Also 18. Kg2 Bf5 is possible when I think about it because 19. Bxf5 Qxf5 20. Bxd4 Rc2 is awkward.

Hmm, yes Matthew, that's a point. 18. a4 appears bad due to 18... Qf3. Mistake?

Is Bc8 really so brilliant? Piece is attacked, move it? Obviously had to be seen several moves earlier, but still seems slightly ott to call it brilliant?

Don't fancy Gelfand's current game 2 position. Terrible development and lots of pawns to be attacked. Urrgghhh.
