DGT Clock fault

Post by Andrew Zigmond » Mon Dec 23, 2024 11:03 am

A DGT 2500 clock I use for the Youth Chess Club has developed a fault. On any setting, once started, it only counts down on one side and not the other.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Sounds like one of the switches on the lever could be broken - switches are often the first thing to wear out in electronics

I think these clocks have been on sale for less than 2 years and Chess & Bridge state that they come with a 2 years warranty, so I think you could make a warranty claim.

Andrew,

The reed switch has failed.

I have replaced these on other DGT models and its fairly straight forward.

Let me know if you want it fixed.

I have checked my DGT spares archive and I can replace the reed switch in your faulty timer.

Apologies for the delay in replying due to Christmas getting in the way. Thank you for your kind offer and I would very much like to take you up on it (and happy to meet any costs involved).

No worries. Please email me at [email protected]

Out of interest, will either the retailer or DGT repair the unit under warranty? The serial number on the bottom of the case will define the date of manufacture.
